My spiritual journey is leading me into the creation of new thoughts

and beliefs.

An organization I belong to has customs in which an ode or a collect

are said at the beginning of a meeting. I no longer wish to

participate in this because one uses negative words and one is based

in Christian beliefs. These are now in conflict with my present

beliefs and I feel the ode and prayer are detrimental to my well

being.

I feel when I am sitting or standing in silence and trying

desperately (and not too successfully) to block out the words being

spoken (words I myself have spoken over a hundred times over the

years) I am living a lie and plan to share with the members that I am

not participating. I am wondering if anyone has experienced

something similar and also if there is a Mantra or poem that I can

use to recite silently to myself to act as a shield of sorts against

the vibrations and meanings of words I do not wish to hear or perhaps

there might be something else you might suggest?
