Guest guest
Dear Steven: I also am not a follower of the Sikh religion. I am most interested in your thoughts. Post what you will. I went back and read what I think is the post you refer to. Ranbirs's beliefs were most interesting. I am on a spritual journey. I am on a journey to improve the health of my body and mind as well. After seeing Dr. Wayne W. Dwyer on public broadcasting television speaking on the Power of Intention, I was lead to Hay House Radio and discovered Dr. Dharma Singh Khalsa and I was lead to this . There came up a posting about a movie available for viewing on the internet called The Secret. I went and viewed this movie. Discussion on this movie ensued. This movie was in reference to The Law of Attraction. Our public library has some of Ester and Jerry Hicks books. I have now read The Law of Attraction-The Basics of the Teaching of Abraham and am now reading The Amazing Power of Deliverate Intent - Living the Art of Allowing. Somewhere along the way, I have read Neale Donald Walsch's book What God Wants. I have read Byron Katie's book Loving What Is. I read the PH Miracle by Robert Young. For a while I was playing a game. The " What If. . . " game is where I ask myself " What if this was true and I acted on it as my belief, what could be the result(s), What if this was not true and I acted on it as my belief, what could be the result(s)? What if this was true and I did not act on it, what cpuld be the result(s)? " What if I was an elephant? That was a fun one. I never got past the first question! It ended up if I was an elephant I would have to live in a certain climate and eat certain food, in order to do that, I would have to leave where I was, that meant leaving my friends and family, so I quickly concluded I was not going to believe I was an elephant. I do not know much about much. I am not worldly, I am not travelled, I am not well read. I read with interest the viewpoints of others and learn what they think. But, their thoughts are their own, just as mine are mine. If I read a posting and I have thoughts and beliefs it brings up, I may reply. It is your difference from me that is so interesting. It is your difference from me that in learning of it, and observing how I respond helps me to learn more about the evolving Brenda, the Brenda who has lain dormant confined by beliefs of the majority of those around her and of the little tiny world that she was confining herself to as those around her were confining themselves and their worlds. My mind is now opening to new possibilities. My difficulties with Kundalini Yoga is I do not know what is the Yoga and what is the Sikh. I do not have access to any Kundalini classes. I do not know what information and instructions are the Yoga, what is the man, and what is the Sikh. Nabil Rizqallah of Beirut Lebanon posted a message about Mantras but there was something I felt was lacking or left out a question left unanswered. These are my thoughts: I wonder where-in lies the real power of yoga. If one sets out to do a meditation that in their mind they have set the desire to change a certain aspect of their existance, is it the meditation that creates the change or the desire that is set out in the mind that creates the change? And what of belief? If one does not have a belief in the power, whether it be from the yoga itself or from the desire set in the mind, how could any change be created? Beliefs come from thoughts. In order to exact change one must create thoughts on which to base their beliefs and the beliefs must speak to their soul. For without our own soul's guidance on what IT wants to believe, are we not simply living the thoughts of others? and who indeed wants to live a life that is not their own? Am I not in fact a creation not only of myself but of those around me. For is it not the thoughts and beliefs of others that guides me to create my own thoughts and beliefs. Indeed - am I in fact creating anything? or is it already there and life is just about discovering what is there all along. So I ask Steven what is it you want? I want to learn about you, for in learning about you, I am lead to discover my thoughts and through my thoughts I am lead back to me. So as you teach me about you, you will be teaching me about me. Thank you for your posting, this has been most theraputic and clarifying. Guest guest
Dear Brenda: > > I wonder where-in lies the real power of yoga. > > If one sets out to do a meditation that in their mind they have set the > desire to change a certain aspect of their existance, is it the meditation > that creates the change or the desire that is set out in the mind that > creates the change? Truly meditating is to let go of desires even while meditating for a specific purpose. the power of yoga is in letting the yoga, not the desire, chisel out of you what you no longer need. I tis not the desire that creates who you are. The desire is actually in the way. If you truly want to heal. Stop wanting anything. Just surrender and let the yoga carry you. > > And what of belief? If one does not have a belief in the power, whether it > be from the yoga itself or from the desire set in the mind, how could any > change be created? it is not about beliefs. There is one aspect about change that is often forgotten: It is consciousness. If you follow the guidelines of the law of attraction, you will engage your magnetic field. But ultimately it is consciousness that seems to be ruling everything. So the first time you wish for something and something comes as a result to fulfill that wish, your consciousness is aroused and awakens. Now life can work with you. The next time you wish for something it does not quite get fulfilled the same way. Your consciousness will guide you as to what needs to happen next. It is not desire that rules your magnetic field. It is consciousness. And there is only one consciousness, that's why anyone can enter the game at any time and it always always works out for everyone. So what of beliefs? Consciousness will eliminate them one by one. I was in a relationship with a beautiful women of incredible light. Our relationship was light and light hearted and fun until she shared of her beliefs of the Jehovah's witness faith. At first I tried to understand where her beliefs came from. I took lessons from leaders in her community. At some point I felt their beliefs were causing much pain in the world in the name of true interpretation of the bible. So I tried to share with her how painful the beliefs of her community were. She could never quite enter her heart when she discussed her religious beliefs. She was only in her mind fearing that her heart could be controlled by the devil. I did some deep soul searching and realized it wasn't for me to convince her of anything. She had to find her own way. I had to respect her free will. I also realized that the strength of her beliefs were clashing with mine. And it was shameful for the love we had was stained by the beliefs, only by the beliefs. So I refused to engage in a battle of beliefs. I love her deeply. And I chose to let her beliefs in and challenge mine. I realized that God is not made up of beliefs. So no belief can help me find God. So the gift I received in that incredible relationship is that my own belief in my beliefs was shattered. Now I live accepting not to know why things happen the way they do. I live to experience what life offers me and to allow what life offers me to transform me. Osho says that one cannot change one's life. Only life can do that. And yoga in all this? Kundalini Yoga is all about consciousness. > > Beliefs come from thoughts. For > is it not the thoughts and beliefs of others that guides me to create my own > thoughts and beliefs. Others may shape our beliefs but only if we accept it. Others are a reflection of what is taking place inside. If we have an internal conflict that we don't acknowledge, that conflict may very well happen before your eyes. Others are a reflection of what is taking place inside until our consciousness is awake, then we start seeing that what is happening outside of us does not define us, that we can choose who we are independently of what the rest of the world does around us or to us. I'll give you an example. If you are stopped by the police when driving, you may feel fear. If you realize you have done nothing wrong, it does not matter how the police treats you! Fear leaves you when you are sure of who you are. That's what creation is all about ultimately: you create YOU. Guest guest
Sat Nam, It about raising consciousness and having the experience. With experience comes wisdom, grace, caliber...there is no discussion, it is beyond discussion, beliefs, desire, or intention. The Aquarian Age is bringing us (or has brought us) here. Wahe Guru!
