Guest guest
.... you're doing a 40-day or other extended practice of a certain kriya, and there are upside down postures, and you get your period? Do you do everything but those postures? Or do you break for a few days, not altering the sequence of the kriya until you can get back to doing it the way it was meant to be done? This whole period thing has always been a little confusing to me - sorry guys! It seems like it doesn't get a lot of frank discussion, so I'm never really sure ... All I ever hear is "don't do inverted postures." Is a standing forward bend an inverted posture? And is it for the entire duration of your period, or just during the heaviest days, ?? Any clarification would be great! Sat naam, Grace
Guest guest
Sat Nam Grace, I am one of those who has never quite gotten a grasp of the rules applying to me and so have done inversions during all days of my moon cycle with no detriment to my being. I will add that I did not begin practicing yoga until my mid 40s, but still had a regular, sometimes heavy, cycle at that time. Include your inner wisdom in your process of listening to advice. Oh happy day, Guru Gopal Kaur
