Vedic Astrology is different from Western Astrology

In 2004 when I had a spiritual awakening on a trip to India - as part

of Gurmukh Kaur's annual yatra to the Rishikesh yoga festival, and

afterwards when teaching at Miri Piri Academy - I had an incredible

reading from Dru Pada, on my Vedic astrology.

According to Dru, the Harrapan* legacy stems their astrological

readings from a wider collection of gravitational influences than the

Western astrologists'. Westerners look to just the planetary solar

bodies, in our solar system, while the Vedics look at the pull from

various stars as well, not just our local system.

It also ends up often that your " sign " is one earlier than imagined.

So, while I'm a virgo in our western system, under the Vedic I'm a

leo. That makes a big difference! It also makes one realize that we

need to rise above the tendency to allow labeling ourselves in too

narrow a fashion. (Kinda like the realization that if each of us has

" male " and " female " energies with us, that maybe we can stop " acting

our part " and act as ourselves).

To contact Dru for a Vedic reading, his email is drupada.

*History experts label the South Indian ancient civilization the

" Harappan " civilization, after one of the two ancient towns found

along the Indus River. Harappa was one town, and the other was

Mohenjo-daro. An amazing and provocative thing is that these ancient

towns, like other ancient ruins worldwide, have more sophisticated

technology than credited in mainstream history books. David Frawley

is a good author to read about Vedic history and knowledge. As the

Aquarian Age starts, we are learning details about life, including

history, that will shake up our preconceptions about reality. Stay

tuned, and enjoy the ride!
