Guest guest
Satnam Sunaina, I have had to deal with anger and impatience as well. At once time I was doing sales in a phone room. People would rudely hang up on me and over the hours I would become very frustrated and angry after so much rejection. When I became very mad, I would drink a tall glass of water and then I would eat a banana. Yogi Bhajan said to just grab it and eat it and be done with the anger. Another solution was to sweat, so I would go outside and do push ups and sit ups and frogs till I sweated. Now, I have another suggestion. There is a mantra with a kriya from Jaap Sahib that is supposed to help you eliminate weaknesses in destiny and weaknesses in your surroundings and in your connections. You interlock the fingers of the hands together level with the throat. Place the palms of the hands downwards. Firmly press the thumbs together and force them under the palms as far as possible. Hold the position at the throat level. You can sit in cross legged position or on a chair but keep the spine very straight. Chant the mantra: Gobinday, Mukunday, Udhaaray, Apaaray, Haree-ang, Kaareeang, Nirnaamay, Akaamay. with the breath coming as necessary......maintain the rythym of the mantra. Do this for 31 minutes a day for 90 days. You can get the music from www.itunes as a down loead for about 42 rupies. Or you can get the CD from www.cdbaby.com and get the full package with words and diagrams. The music is by Satkirin Kaur Khalsa. The name of the CD is JAAP. Try it and let us know how you do. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Yogi Bhajan's advice to just grab a bannana, eat it and hold onto your anger makes me ANGRY! I have found that Kundalini Yoga can increase my own reactivity and angry reactions, perhaps as part of a cleansoing but it pisses me off how thoughtless the Y Bhajan is about how we interact in the world and the devestation that can happen when we can't control our emotions. I just lost a job, and I tried, walking meditation, eating banannas, calling my therapist, etc...it takes time and it's difficult. I'm finding that rythmic breathing, samatha meditation and relaxation is the best...also removing yourself to a safe place where you can hold onto the anger. By the way, he gave the same advice for depression....eat a bannana! Fuck that! I am a therapist and I do not believe in meds, well not always, but I think sometimes people need to be taken seriously and need something more than just a naturopathic approach. To tell you all the truth, this kind of advice, and following this advice is dangerous. I think we need to use what works, but also listen to other people, professionals who work with depression and anger, perhaps a therapist might help! Bless all of you but I'm pissed! EOK They wish to flower and flowering is beautiful but we wish to ripen and that means being dark and taking pains. ~ Rilke Kundalini-Yoga , " Sat Kirin Kaur Khalsa " <satkirin wrote: > > Satnam Sunaina, > > I have had to deal with anger and impatience as well. > At once time I was doing sales in a phone room. Guest guest
Sat Nam all, We should respond to the anger and NOT react ..that is what Yogi B actually was trying to teach us. I would be the first one to stand up and say THIS is HARD however since completing level two modules Conscous Communication and Authenic Realtionships I understand..... and have passed on my learning to my community and classes. If we all do this we then start the butterfly effect / ripple effect. The bannana was simply the same as counting to ten!!!! Respond --not react. Very Simple. If you can't see God in All then You can't see God at all... love and blessings Didar Kaur Australia How would you spend $50,000 to create a more sustainable environment in Australia? Guest guest
Sat Nam Sunnia, From reading the post I am seeing that Sunaina point has been missed , Sunnia is angry it is not because some one said something mean there for go eat a banna and count to to ten. That is not what I am getting from what is being said by Sunaiana , there is deep seeded anger and frustration. Eating a banna is not going to get to the core . This is where mindfulness and sitting with ones self and tweezing out the knot is what needs to be done. Searching deep in your core for that anger and frustration and you could start with the words " I am hurt " and " I am sad " that is usually what is underlying deep seeded anger. Once you identify the hurt and anger and sadness and find what the fur ball is then look for KY sets to help release it. Then the next time that button is pushed go eat a banna and count to ten. Guest guest
IMHO, the work we do on anger is work we do on OUR anger, not on external events but on our reaction to them that draws from inner anger. My experience is that it never worked for me to use my mind against anger or to think happy thoughts. For me anger is one of the proofs of the Buddhist teaching that you can't use the mind against the mind; and I think this is especially true because anger gets stored in the body, and has too much force for our subtle energy to overcome, at least in the beginning. Let's hope we can train ourselves to control both mind and body. Here's what has worked for me: Inner Anger set from 9-21-88 (forgive me, I don't remember which book and, last I checked, the kriya finder on kriteachings.org is not working. But the date is right. I think the set is called " Conquering Inner Anger " or " Releasing Inner Anger " . It's the one where you slap the ground with your palms.) 40 days of this set has had effects on me for years. It broke very deep patterns in my life. " Conquer Inner Anger and Burn It Out " from 'Reaching Me in Me' p. 46. This 11 min kriya makes you confront your anger and uses the 'body's own morphine' to pacify you when you finish. 40 days of it did wonders for me. good luck, -Baba
Guest guest
Sat Nam 'Magistaraa' When I first started KY, I discovered that it brought up unprocessed issues. KY is described as an ‘in your face’ yoga. Logically speaking, if we are enabling greater, higher frequency energy through ourselves, ‘stuff’ is going to come out. So, although some of the KY exercises I do are to help process issues, I now do processing before KY. Every night (and in the day if needed) I process any past or present issues that are ‘sitting in me’ somewhere, causing tension, anxiety, fear, anger etc.; no matter how small the incident or feeling. I do this because it is a process of consciously recollecting incidents that have cause me some kind of 'stress'. I recollect the incident or person involved, get a feel for where it is causing tension in me, and then, with that awareness, go through the process of releasing that tension with a breathing technique. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes, sometimes longer. I sleep better, and am ready for a short set at night and a couple of hours KY in the morning. We can learn to consciously adjust the combination and amount of KY according to the present need and capacity, in a more refined and intelligent way. Also though, I would be hard pressed to find anything that equates to genuine, sincere, and humane caring and support for ‘opening the heart’ …(something I have seen in this digest)…and is perhaps another of ‘The Secrets’… : )
Guest guest
Sat Nam Sunaina, This is an on the spot easy to learn method, that will take only 3 minutes to resolve anger problems or any other. Just with anger, you might have to do it layer by layer like peeling an onion. I have been using this method for a lot of things and anger is one of them. download a free PDF FILE showing you how to tap on accupressure meridians on the face and hands http://www.emofree.com/ I have even used this in public and got rid of anger, thinking I was going to faint, throw up, lack of energy and strength, headaches, basically anything that a person thinks they can't do or remember and it works.
