Guest guest
Blessings and Sat Nam All: For second time in 1 1/2 years I have been told by dentist that I need a night guard because I am grinding my teeth at night. I have been aware of this occasionally when i awake in the morning and my mouth is sore. However, I would like to explore postures/breathing I might do prior to sleep to correct this stress-related condition. Would appreciate feedback from others. I am sure whatever I learn i can incorporate into my classes to help my students with stress also. Peace and Blessings Lee/ Wahe Guru Kaur dancingwiththeinfinite
Guest guest
Dear Wahe Guru Kaur We too often try to correct what we naturally do... that's like saying " what I am doing is wrong! " That's the way we were taught so we keep doing it! So what I am suggesting instead is to allow yourself space to feel your teeth doing exactly what they do. Feel the vibration that your teeth grinding motion creates in you, let it expand, give it space, freedom , creative expression so to speak! You'll start becoming aware of a dance, an inner dance, something quite beautiful: an expression from your deepest self... something that needs to be heard desperately! You'll find what you need. Enjoy! That is yoga! Blessings, Awtar Singh
Guest guest
I, too, have the teeth grinding problem. I suggest that you get the "band-aid" the mouth guard until you find another method, because I waited too long and now have ground holes into my teeth. But-I'm also interested in the Sahibee Kriya if anyone knows where to look for it. Also, I haven't tried accupuncture for it which is a good idea. I also have trouble with my feet and it sounds like trouble with grounding makes a lot of sense. The thing that helped my grinding problem the most was a weeks vacation in the Florida Keys-Ha-Ha! But it's true-time to destress. Just getting a massage in the head and jaw areas also helps for a while. I disagree with the idea to let yourself grind away. You can also get TMJ from this habit.
