There are probably many more out there much more experienced than I am with this, but I've been teaching for a couple of year now and currently have two pregnant students in my Monday evening class. From what I understand from all of my Teacher Training Level 1 classes - after 120 days of pregnancy, NO breath of fire, nothing upside down, nothing on the belly and nothing for long periods on the back.

I would be interested if anyone more experienced out there has additional information on this, and also are there specific meditations that would be wonderful for the expecting mom and the unborn child - beautiful mantras to listen to before, during and after the birth?

Sat Nam Guru Jiwan Kaur,

Specifically Yogi Bhajan emphasized the One Minute Breath to prepare

the pregnant woman for birthing. He advised that she can suspend the

inhale, however NOT the EXHALE.

I have been teaching Kundalini Yoga for pregnancy and post-partum

since 1973 in Europe and the US. Yogi Bhajan was very supportive as I

was developing the KRI-approved Special Teacher's Training:Conscious

Pregnancy. He provided an abundant information about pregnancy, birth

and post-partum, including yoga sets and meditation.

3HO will be selling these books at Summer Solstice or you can order

the Conscious Pregnancy: The Gift of Giving Life (Yogi Bhajan's

teachings preconception, conception, pregnancy and birth) and/or

Conscious Pregnancy Yoga Manual (yoga sets, pranayam and meditations

for pregnancy) from women.

I offer the KRI-approved training around the globe. The next

Conscious Pregnancy specialty training is in Espanola, New Mexico

June 24 - July 7...in a few weeks! Check www.3HO.org after Summer

Solstice for the fall/winter schedule.

Sat Nam.

Blessings,
