Guest guest
Sat Nam, ji -- I'm sure you can and will discover many meditations for various aspects of aligning ourselves in the new moon and the full moon times. These two times are ideal for having our Kars (vehicles) tuned up. :-) To any or all of those, I would like to suggest the teaching of Yogi Bhajan that Fasting (with liquids that don't burden the body with digestion) and meditating (in any way you like) on the 11th day of the New Moon, and on the 11th day of the Full Moon (counting with the actual day of being new or full as " day one " ). He taught that both the Pituitary and the Pineal Glands secrete optimally on those days, making the entry into deeper meditative states much more readily accessible. So it's a really great time to practice Raja Yoga. If you are interested in an " updated approach " to Patanjali's Sutras for Raja Yoga (building on " Ek Ong Kar " rather than OM as a linguistic mantra basis) there is a pdf file on the " Files Section " of this forum that can be downloaded. It can be said that Guru Nanak's Japji Sahib is " humanly evolutionary " in that it reveals the direct pathway from Infinity to Humanity in only 40 steps (that's miraculous) - Muhl Mantra, plus 38 Pauris and the Slok. The problem is that when we focus on " OM the Absolute " from where we live in Relativity, you can't get to Infinity from here. Guru Nanak was so kind to show us (by articulating " EK ONG KAR " ) that Infinity is inseparable from where we've always been. We're already there, we simply have to experience it directly, which we can with the assistance of Guru Nanak and the Muhl Mantra. Similarly, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras are the summary expressions of 196 extremely brief " one liners " that detail the precise journey between the time one sits on the yoga mat to meditate and the moment of directly connecting with Infinity and Liberation. Especially important is the practice of " Samyama " by which ANYTHING in the universe (including the Universe itself) can be Known. If you've ever wondered " Why? " there will be no secrets in the Aquarian Age, this would be the answer. Patanjali's work is THE Classic expression of the Oral Tradition of teachings from Master to Disciple that evolved over thousands of years. Patanjali wrote it down. These were the " Pith Instructions " that every practitioner would have memorized during the training, in order to have them readily accessible for inspired problem solving as one would eventually journey in meditation for long, long meditative experiences (without having to open the eyes, turn on the light and explore the Sadhana Manual). It's the master text for meditation, and Guru Nanak can make it actually useful for all of us. I received my first copy of the Yoga Sutras as a gift from Yogi Bhajan in May 1970 ( " How to Know God " ). His gift became a Hukam for me from my teacher, to plumb its depths and drink that nectar. Perhaps the finest translation I've found is Taimni's " Science of Yoga " published by the Theosophical Press in the early 1960's. The commentaries following each Sutra are precious, and support deep insight. If you can find a copy as it may be out of print, but available on Alibris.com or Amazon.com. At any rate, as we entertain the new beginnings of a New Moon, we can work with " AAD SUCH, JUGAAD SUCH, HABHI SUCH, NANAK HOSEE BHI SUCH " because this Sutra of Guru Nanak begins the entire Guru Granth Sahib. At the time of the Full Moon, when so much is going on that blockages and conflict can arise, we can work with " AAD SUCH, JUGAADJ, HABHEY SUCH, NANAK HOSEE BHEY SUCH " through which Guru Arjun Dev resolved a profound obstacle to completing Sukhmani Sahib, in Ashtapadi 17. So, among all the other meditative possibilities for New Moon and Full Moon times, one could do the liquid fasts on the 11th day of each phase, and then explore new beginnings and " abundance / conflict " resolutions as needed, all the way until Enlightenment happens (as it certainly will, some day). Perhaps today. for many Blessings, Krishna Singh Kundalini-Yoga , Ver Tips <ver_tips wrote: > > Sat Nam, > I would like to know which meditations can be made especially during the New and Full moon? > Thanks for uour answers! > > > Ne gardez plus qu'une seule adresse mail !
