Guest guest
Sat Nam, I had the same problem last year and was able to correct it without medication. The set was called " For Thyroid " and it is packed away until July but I belive it went like this: 1. shoulder shrugs 3 minutes 2. head turns (like shaking your head " no " ) 3 minutes 3. head circle 1 min each way, 1 minute in a figure 8 (or infinity symbol) 4. palms pressed together, arms straight above the head, elbows straight like in Sat Kriya and nod you head all the way down to your chest and then drop it all the way back as far as you can. 3 minutes It was so easy and so effective. I also used diet and supplements as directed for my specific body type by a nutritionist. Good luck. Anand Kaur
Guest guest
The exercise with the chin tucked in that you mention...I've always done it in cobra pose with turning the head side to side, hugging the chest with the chin. I was taught that this should not be done more than a certain number of times, I believe the number I was taught was 5x. Anybody remember specifically or know where it was from? I do remember that it was mentioned as being good for the thyroid.
Guest guest
Sat Nam, ji -- We practiced this exercise numerous times directly in class with Yogiji. There was not any cautionary limitation given when performing this practice while sitting in easy pose. If the exercise stimulated tickling or coughing in the throat, that was attributed to a need to develop strength in the thyroid. In other words, to do it more. To breath and bring prana into the area. Perhaps the limitation was due to the fact that in cobra pose, the forward bend of the neck to rub the chin to the sternum notch is reverse from the normal neck posture in cobra pose. I hope this is helpful for you. Thanks for the set, did you just tell a nutritionsist about your diagnosis?
