Guest guest
Sat Nam! I know a wonderful healer and friend who is in the process of getting support for his non-profit center for Traditional Medicine called Circle of One. His name is Kourosh Kashani, and he started the center in 2000, located in Alexandria, Va. Here is the mission statement to their project, titled " Coming Home †" the art of traditional medicine in partnership with modern science. " Our mission is to preserve spiritually-centered traditional medical knowledge by creating a contemporary reference, treatment protocols, teaching curriculum, and training outlines in global partnership with conventional physicians and traditional practitioners so that the Sacred is retained and the profound potential of integrative holistic medicine is realized. You can check out the Circle of One website here: http://www.circleofone.org/ It is very exciting what he is doing, especially trying to compile a reference collection that encompasses Ayurvedic, Chinese, Tibetan and Unani medicine systems. Also, this project made it to the top 50 out of 7,018 entries in the American Express Members Project contest. And American Express named the University of Arizona Program for Integrative Medicine (headed by Dr. Andrew Weil) as the fulfilling organization! The winner gets 5 million to fund his project! So two things: 1. If you feel so inclined and have an American Express Card, you are eligible to vote for this project: " The Return of Physician as Healer " , ID# 2767. To vote, go here: http://www.membersproject.com/Health_Fitness/2767 Log in. Then select “vote for this projectâ€. Easy! You can also add a comment if inspired. 2. This project is still in the fundraising stages, and its mostly a grassroots campaign. Its a very open system that consists of Kourosh talking with groups who are open-minded and receptive to traditional healing modalites. So if you are interested, or know of any people/groups who would be receptive to this, you can contact me to find out more information. This is a very small center, only 3 practitioners, and all with the purest of intention. I have been a patient, and (along with my Kundalini practice of course!) I have experienced a lot of positive transformation and soul-learning over the course of my treatment. if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!
