Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Divine, I respectfully write to inform you of an Internship that is available with Professor Krishna Ahoojapatel, UN Representative for Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, NGO in General Consultative Status with ECOSOC of the United Nations (www.wilpf.ch) The Internship is available from 9th August - 9th September or any part thereof (minimum two weeks). Professor Ahoojapatel is Professor of International Relations at St Mary's University, Halifax, Canada, teaching United Nations and Development, Gender and Development. Professor Ahoojapatel is also the Chair of the NGO Committee on the Status of Women, Geneva, and one of the most respected members of the NGO community in both New York and Geneva. It is a great privilege to intern with her. The Internship involves working directly with Professor Ahoojapatel on finalising the NGO Committee on Status of Women, Geneva, Study Paper on " Gender Equality: Tracing the Transition from the Commission on Human Rights to the Human Rights Council " . The 6th Session of the Human Rights Council is scheduled September 10th - 16th. Gurushabd Kaur Khalsa, second year undergraduate student at University of Toronto, Canada, majoring in International Relations and Environmental Studies has been interning with the Office of 3HO NGO in Geneva since June 12th and has attended the 5th Session of the Human Rights Council, the Civil Society Development Forum and the ECOSOC Substantive Session (until end July). She is presently working on her Presentation at the Workshop sponsored by 3HO Foundation at the Annual DPI/NGO Conference in September in New York " Spiritual Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability " as well as a Research Paper for the NGO Committee on Status of Women Working Group on the Girl Child " Early Marriage " . She will be attending the Utrecht University Summer School Course on Peace, Human Rights and Justice for two weeks in August before returning to Canada.
