Guest guest
My red alert button gets triggered when I hear or read anything spiritual that sounds like a " should " or a " shouldn't " because growth does not come by following rules, growth comes from living and living fully and accepting, integrating the experience of it! There's one exception I found so far. A teacher of mine told me one day: " Don't you dare take anything personally! " That sounds like a " shouldn't " and it probably applies to most people... It was said in such a way as a cut with a sword. The same might apply to someone indulging in lustful thoughts or emotions without integrating the experience. And a teacher might say: " Don't you dare indulge in lust! " But that would not necessarily apply to most people. In general my experience is that for someone who lives fully including lust, the physical kind, in his or her life, there comes a graduation, a promotion of sorts to experiencing lust for life, the kind that Rumi celebrates. As Osho says (I paraphrase): Life belongs to those who rejoice and celebrate life, not to the long faced ones...
