Guest guest
Sat Nam. Dear Devi Kirin, I've been reading all the replies to your request to find the poem "by Guru Gobind Singh" --- and I wonder why no one has questioned if you really mean the famous shabd written by Guru Arjan Dev? Guru Arjan Dev's Shabd Hazaray has been callled one of the most beautiiful love poems ever written! Of course, all the replies have pointed you to it, but I just wanted to make sure that's what you're asking about? A musical version of Shabd Hazaray is on a CD called "Lord of Miracles" which I recorded a few years ago for Spririt Voyage. I'm not a real "singer," but I've been doing that shabd for over 25 years with Kirtan Singh every Sunday in the early morning Gurdwara at Guru Ram Das Ashram when I'm home in Los Angeles. Guru Ram Das, when he finally read the letters his son (Arjan Mal, who later became Guru Arjan Dev) had written to him, said that anyone who recited these words would never be separated from those they love, and never be separated from the Guru. He called it "Shabd Hazaray" which means it's equivalent to a thousand shabds. Blessings, Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa
