Guest guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 I have sleep apnea. I agree that weight can be a factor. So can abnormalities in the structure of the air passageways. While I would not be surprised if weight loss and pranayam might help in some cases, the student should also be aware, is she isn't already, that apnea can be a serious condition with implications for heart health among other things. Whatever yogic or other methods she pursues, she should absolutely see a medical doctor, who will probably refer her to sleep specialist.
