Guest guest
The long sub-title above follows the main title, " Kundalini Yoga Meditation " of a hard-cover book which David Shannahoff-Khalsa wrote at the request of one of W. W. Norton's editors. Though it retails for $39.95, it is available at $23 and under on Amazon. ISBN numbers: ISBN 13: 978-0-393-704 and ISBN-10: 0-393-70475-0. This book represents years of careful and hard work on the part of David. Kundalini Yoga meditations transmitted by Yogiji and recorded by the author during the long-time association with Yogiji and the Sikh way of life have been grouped together according to specific disorders and topics. Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, ADHD, ADD, Anxiety and Panic Disorder, and many others. The beauty and the advantage of this book - which certainly joins those of Dr. Dharma as immensely helpful to the world community at large as Kundalini Yoga teachers relay the knowledge and help - is that David has run clinical trials of these meditations in cooperation with M.D.s. There's nothing like joining the world of the mystic with the world of the medical doctor to bring spheres together. This, to my thinking, is also an absolutely golden opportunity to expand our Kundalini Yoga classes and outreach. The clinical documentation gives a credibility which allows clear statements in marketing data of the intent, purpose and possible effects of each meditation. No lawsuits here. Of course, results vary, but the author has also included case histories, which are indisputable. I've already expanded my classes to include three in Meditation Based in Kundalini Yoga, and use David's book as well as Yogiji's and Gurucharan's " The Mind " and the countless other sources we all have. I admit I'm very impressed with this work. It goes along with Candace Pert, Ph.D.'s book, " Molecules of Emotion " which explains and documents how our " feelings " register in our cells in different parts of our bodies. I really can't recommend it highly enough. Om Bhagavati and Shanti Shanti Shanti, Sat Nam, Ananda Anne
