IBS & IBD inquiry

Hello. Two students came up at the end of my class tonight and asked

if I know of any particular kriyas, asanas or meditations that would

help them deal with their Irritable Bowel Syndrome diagnosis.

One lady has been told that she has IBD and is heading for a further

diagnosis if she doesn't find some way to help her body. She is a

vegan and has been doing yoga for over 3 years. Any suggestions are

much appreciated.

Thank you everyone - Santokh Kaur

Sat Nam Santokh!

personally, I've found vatskar kriya and 'Elimination (apana)

excercises' invaluable in sorting out IBS. mYou can find it in Sadhana

Guidlines and also (I think) in relax and renew by gururattan kk.

You need to do it every day before eating or drinking though.

good luck to you and your students!

This is my personal IBS story: I was having worse and worse digestive trouble, a lot of pain and was ready to commit to healing and change. I did Elimination/ Apana Kriya, which is a great set, for 40 days. On the last day it was not better but so much worse that I finally had to agree to go to a doctor about it. That same day I was referred for a barium enema and to a specialist. The inconclusive, painful procedure led to a colonoscopy, in which benign polyps were found. They the put me on diets which did not help either. I finally stopped eating meat once and for all, and now though it is not always just right, I feel like my gut is my teacher, showing me when my life is out of balance. At the time I was disappointed that the yoga had not healed me, but of course now I get that I had to have that colonoscopy or cancer could have been the next teacher. Some times the yoga works in ways we don't expect. Some times we need

outside help.Anyway the set is fun and great for all levels.peace to all, love to all, light to all,Kate LynchHealthy Happy Yogakate
