Of late, the left side of my jaw has been clicking, especially when I

am chewing crunchy foods like muesli or granola. Are there any

kundalini sets or practices given by Yogi Bhajan to eradicate this

annoying problem!

Sat Nam. Yes. I used to have this very problem. Here's what I do:

1) " Ong Namo " then do any warm-up set.

2) Shug the shoulders. Inhale up. Exhale down.

3) Open the jaws as wide as they will go and tilt the head so the left ear goes to the left shoulder. Then tilt the other way.

4) Stick the jaw way out as far as it will go and... tilt the head so the left ear goes to the left shoulder. Then tilt the other way.

This solved my problem - of course this is not to constitute medical advice. If you have medical concerns, see a medical practitioner.

May the longtime sun shine upon you...

If your jaw is tight, this might help:keeping lips closed, run your tongue along the OUTSIDE of your teeth in a circular motion several times in one direction and then several times in the opposite direction. So the tongue goes along the upper teeth from left to right and down along the bottom teeth from right to left in a circle; then switch directions.hope this helps,-Baba

This is a condition called TMJ. (stands for Temporal Mandibular Joint

I believe). There are many things involved with, associated with, or

that cause TMJ, such as a bad bite, stress, and teeth grinding at

night. I have TMJ. My experience is that it can be helped locally with

remedies such as those suggested, but there are underlying structural

issues in the spine and jaw that cause it. For me it is associated

with my hips being out of alignment, which is aggravated by stress,

which also aggravates my teeth grinding. It is all connected.

I suggest full body yoga, not just local work with the jaw. Especially

hip openers. Many body workers know that any symptom is a reflection

of something happening at the other end of the spine, and the symptom

is how the body compensates for the root issue. You cannot treat it in

isolation. There is an excellent book about TMJ called " TMJ - The Jaw

Connection. " By Greg Goddard. Avoid eating hard food that requires

intense chewing.
