Guest guest
I was looking something up and I came across the following statement on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3HO : Harbhajan Singh Yogi has been recognized by 3HO as the Siri Singh Sahib, or the Sikh leader in the Western Hemisphere by his followers, although this title is not recognized for him by the Sikh community, as it is only given to the jathedar of the Akal Takht. and on this site http://www.sikhnet.com/yogibhajan is this statement: .... the president of the SGPC (governing body of Sikh Temples in India), Sant Charan Singh called him the Siri Singh Sahib, Chief Religious and Administrative Authority for the Western Hemisphere, and he was given the responsibility to create a Sikh Ministry in the West by the Akal Takhat, the Sikh seat of religious authority in Amritsar, India. He was honored with the title Bhai Sahib by the Akal Takhat in 1974. If the statement on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3HO is NOT TRUE. PERHAPS SOMEONE SHOULD GO THEIR AND EDIT IT? Just an idea, Sat Avtar Kaur
Guest guest
Sat Nam. Thanks for your clear thinking. The situation is rather muddled however. While in a burst of inspiration, the designated leaders in Amritsar in 1971, Sant Chanan Singh of the religious administration known as the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Sant Fateh Singh of the political party the Shiromani Akali Dal did garland the man we call " Siri Singh Sahib " with honours and an unprecedented title, within a couple of years there was significant grumbling about it in the Sikh political universe. It had been hoped that in accepting the standard honorific of " Bhai Sahib " in 1974, our Yogiji would let the Siri Singh Sahib title rest, but this was not to be. The Siri Singh Sahib set a unique and outstanding example. Some followed. Some honoured him. Some were jealous. And most Sikhs to this day are still oblivious of his life and contributions. But the story is not over yet... If you are a Sikh and you are a Yogi and you love the example the Siri Singh Sahib set before us, follow it. Be ten times greater. One day then that begrudging Wikipedia entry will be revised to reflect the glory of his name.
Guest guest
Sat Nam, I have edited and removed most of the incorrect statements contained in the prior mentioned Wikipedia posting. Wikipedia information can be posted and edited by anyone and therefore we should take the information contained within it with a grain of salt. Guru Fatha Singh Ji - perhaps if you have the time you could post something worthwhile on this page? Sat Nam, Akal Sahai Singh Kundalini-Yoga , " Guru Fatha Singh Khalsa " <gurufathasingh wrote: > > Sat Nam. Thanks for your clear thinking. The situation is rather muddled > however.
