Guest guest
Good start! Instead of focusing on transforming the disorder and healing the past, I would suggest you focus on seeing yourself as if you were born right this minute and just feel yourself as you are, not as you were. There are sometimes huge differences between what we think is still hurting us and what is really hurting us. Remembering what used to hurt is a way to keep the hurt in the present. So the past no longer hurts, but we keep hurting ourself by remembering. The way to truly heal is to reframe ourself constantly until it becomes automatic. By reframing I mean recognizing the game we play with our mind that brings the hurt in the present and at that moment letting go of the relationship to that, while accepting the sensations in the body, and recognizing instead what is already beautiful in our life right now. By engaging the mind, the toughts, around the things to be grateful for, you reframe your habits. The problem is not the past, but the habits to bring the past back to the present. That takes a huge amount of energy and is very draining. And... it hurts! It brings anxiety and depression and all the rest of it, like carrying a heavy baggage... we have to see ourself doing that and then ask ourself why we still carry this baggage! And then choose to not carry it anymore... But it is not enough to stop carrying it. It is important to replace that habit with something life enhancing like seeing and feeling what to be grateful for. It is choosing like between snacking on something unecessary and practicing yoga, but it is all happening in the thoughts what thoughts you choose to feed yourself with. You can let go of the practice of paying attention to hurtful thoughts or memory. They are no longer yours, if you let it be. So if you do this and do Yoga for the enjoyment of it instead of as medication to heal the past... the yoga will be more effective. Otherwise everytime you do Yoga it will also be a way to bring the past into your system and Yoga may not very useful.
