Hi I want to formally introduce myself to the group. I thought it was

a little rude to post a question without saying hello first :-) I've

also been lurking for quite some time.

I am 'young chippie' as my dad used to call me. I don't tell people my

age anymore. All I'll say is that I was going into a steamroom at the

pool and the attendant asked me if I was sixteen!!!!!! I'm over twenty

and under fifty :o) I first 'got into' yoga going to a bikram yoga

studio with my sister before I moved to the 'sticks' of rural

Pennsylvania.

I didn't quite understand Kundalini Yoga so I decided to read about it

by buying Kundalini Yoga, a bright yellow book that attracted my eye

at the store. I discovered I loved it as it filled in gaps that my

bikram yoga didn't cover. Surprisingly and much to my husband's

delight my kundalini yoga practice has actually made me a better Roman

Catholic, going back to church, confession and praying the rosary

which I find close to chanting.

I practice using DVDs by Gurmukh and Anna Brett and reading various

websites. I did get my white turban after all and found that my

nursing instructors are quite intrigued by it. I am a nursing student

and get up early to do my yogas even if it's thirty or forty minutes.

I don't always do the cold showers but I find that my brain buzzes and

vibes better after.

My challenges is finding specific sets for enhancing my studies,

concentration in class, etc. and chants/mudras for retaining and

absorbing info.

Thanks for reading.
