Sat Nam. Someone brought to my attention the unfortunate, inaccurate,

misleading information that had been put into Wikipedia about Kundalini

Yoga. (and apparently posted on this KY group Digest #1031) Kundalini

Yoga is NOT " Sikh " yoga. Good grief! Kundalini Yoga is actually Raj

Yoga and predates Guru Nanak, the first Sikh Guru by thousands of years!

The Sikh Gurus were enlightened beings who were wise enough to utilize

Kundalini Yoga. But teachers, and practitioners of Kundalini Yoga are

free to follow/practice any religion they choose (or not!). Kundalini Yoga

is a " sacred " science, because, as the Yoga of Awareness, it enables a

person to yoke with, unite their individual consciousness with the

Universal Consciousness, which is usually called G-O-D. How people choose

to worship God is their personal business.

Kundalini Yoga is NOT a religion. Although Yogi Bhajan, the Master of

Kundalini Yoga was a Sikh, he never, never, NEVER proselytized in any way.

It is contrary to the Sikh code of ethics and conduct to try to convert

anyone! And he certainly never referred to Kundalini Yoga as a Sikh

practice. Sikhs believe One God breathes in everyBODY -- and in Kundalini

Yoga, we share that universal belief. Nobody, I repeat, nobody is required

to be a Sikh to practice or teach Kundalini Yoga. My book, KUNDALINI

YOGA: The Flow of Eternal Power is available for those who would like to

understand in simple terms what Kundalini Yoga is all about.
