Recovery from surgery

Sat Nam. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in September 2007, I've

undergone two operations to clear the cancer and it seems we are

winning! After my first surgery, instead of resorting to painkillers,

I tried Kundalini Yoga, meditation, pranayma and visualization- all of

which I found extremely helpful. The same with the second surgery. The

only challenge is the wound, which is still numb, but feels tight and

I am not able to lie down on the floor very comfortably. This too will

pass :)

As health care professional myself, I was pleasantly surprised how

many healing properties yoga and meditation have, and even though I

still " trust " Western medicine, I am also beginning to develop serious

interest in complementary therapies. While caring for my own patients,

I certainly use massage and suggest different breathing techniques to

combat pain and other symptoms. This is exciting and it is amazing to

see the effect of this technique in different people.

After recovering from my own surgery, I promised myself I would travel

to India and I feel it is time to honor this promise. I will be

traveling by myself, would like to visit North India (Rishikesh,

Amritsar etc). If anyone would have suggestions where to stay safely,

such as an ashram, I'd very much appreciate if you let me know. My

vacation will be four weeks, maximum.

Much love

Sat Nam,

I am so happy for your healing successes, Sat Atma Kaur! Wahe Guru! I

have tears in my eyes from your beautiful inspired and courageous

story.

Thank you for sharing. Enjoy India!!!

Where you raised in Saudi Arabia or did you move there? What does your

name mean? Was it part of your strength in your healing?

Hugs,

Yahara
