Guest guest
Sat Nam, Amarpal Kaur -- You have received one response as a reference to a publication (that I'm not familiar with) with three hip opener exercises. Here is one that I can share with you, that Yogiji described as especially essential for women in aligning the pelvis. It's a great exercise for men also. Sit on the heels, and then extend one leg backward on the floor, so the toes of that leg are stretched out as far as possible and pointed backward (with the top of the extended foot on the floor), behind you. Straighten and stretch the spine upward, and bend the head back to " look at the ceiling. " " Cup " your hands and raise them up to the shoulders, with the palms pointed upward toward the ceiling. And RELAX, breathe long and deep, and allow gravity to relax and release the base of your spine and pelvic area into the floor. Allow this to become relaxed and feeling natural, and having done that, the hips and pelvic area will be in beautiful alignment. If one's body weight is excessive, we should be be especially slow, gradual and careful. In all practices of Kundalini Yoga, it is always essential not to cause injury by over-stressing any under-excercised parts of ourselves. Pace yourself easily, and allow change to be gradual. Decades from now, when you're still enjoying physical yoga practice, you'll be very grateful that you did. In the past, we have witnessed people doing very hard exercises with almost fanatical or emotional intensity, sometimes resulting in significant joint, cartilage or tissue injuries. There is no substitute for common sense,* and you don't need self injury. And the experience of arriving at your goals with a sense of calm, meditative accomplishment (even when highly energized and intensive) is one of the true blessings of yoga practice. many Blessings, Krishna Singh *(As Yogiji described the 8 human faculties (or " senses " ), only a " sense of humor " was listed higher than " common sense " in his description). So, apparently, if it's " grim " it's not yoga. ksk Kundalini-Yoga , " amarpal.kaur " <terhi.harmavaara wrote: > > Is there kriyas which open hips well? > > Thank you >
