Guest guest
To start with: I don't gain anything by this piece of info whether you change your sugar intake from it or not. I just met a dentist who is wondering how to find a way to get this news out to the public. She owns a European restaurant now because in her view there is no need for dentists any more! (There may be a need for orthodontists though.) And she is appaled at the dentist association which has approved the product (zylitol) but has done everything to confuse the issue with sorbitol so people don't have the information to make an informed decision about it. Sorbitol is used for diabetics but it continues to build acid which creates cavities and causes acid reflux. Zylitol creates an alkaline environment, and contributes to the re-mineralization of teeth and bones. She has not had a dental appointment in 20 years, has not flossed her teeth in that time, but has used zylitol a birch tree sugar that has a cool feeling in your mouth when you taste it. Toothpaste is not always safe to the teeth, some major brands create byproducts you would not want near yourself or your children. Beside helping anyone, there are people (elderly, or with disabilities physical or mental) who cannot easily brush their teeth for whom this product is ideal. A study was done by a doctor to see if the epidemics of tooth decay could be stopped in an American Indian reserve. They offered them one zylitol gum 3 times a day and the tooth decay decreased dramatically. No more need of fluoride... which I hear was never effective anyway, it just happened to be found in a town where little cavity problem was found, but no other connections were made... Pure zylitol can be bought in little coffee paper bag format or in 2 lb carton boxes. It is used in candy and gum as well. Since it kills yeast it cannot be used to make bread. It makes cakes a little heavier so it does not make light European pastries Her website is http://www.zellies.com and has products as well as scientific information...
