Guest guest
I recently ordered the book, " Divine Alignment " from Spirit Voyage music and books. A day or so later , I received an email from " Mamasource " saying that Siri Chand (the person with whom I dealt at Spirit Voyage) had requested that a tree be planted on my behalf. There was a choice to Plant This Tree or Don't Plant This Tree. Because it came from Spirit Voyage and because Siri Chand worked for them, I accepted it as Plant This Tree. Does anyone know who Mamasource is? I have queried Spirit Voyage and received no response. The program, Mamasource, has delved into my address book on my pc and replicated itself, sending email invitations to " Plant Trees " or " Not Plant Trees " to everyone, apparently, in the address book. Some the program phrases its greeting a little differently. It's unsettling to me, at least, to have this happen and I wonder if anyone at all is aware of what the program is, and what its purpose is. I haven't lost files - to my knowledge - so it doesn't seem to be a virus. Thanks for anyone's insight on this subject. Sincerely, Anne Leggett Walker Ananda Kaur
Guest guest
Yes, I also got an invitation from Siri Chand A to plant a tree in my name, and I am also on the Spirit Voyage mailing list. I actually accepted Mamasource's invitation to plant the tree because I thought that a different Siri Chand Kaur had sent it to me. I found that Mamasource is a very benign group who provide information for mom's, including articles and a national baby sitters' registry. I believe they also sell products as well. Accepting the tree planting evidently put me on their mailing list. But they were quite gracious and kind when I opted out. Guest guest
Greetings Ladies, I got the same message but did not opt in - but I did send a message to the Siri Chand that sent it as he's actually a fellow in the Washington DC area. (his email was attached to the invite) I don't know if he even knows that Mama Source sent out the invite, or if like Ananda Kaur his mailbox was raided. I sent him an email and will let you know what I find out. Today I got the third 'invite' - last chance it said - to sign up. But MammaSource is always free so that makes it a bit heavy handed. Otherwise, it looks like a good site, and since we offer Prenatal classes at our yoga studio I wondered if he sent it along. Thanks for your messages. Guest guest
Here's what I found from googling Mamasource http://mamasource.blogspot.com/ Apparently, they use a harvesting software that takes over your email reader and sends out emails to your contacts. Guest guest
-Hi- Im a new member and have been lurking for a bit( I must say i am quite the novice to KY though i have been practicing yoga for more than fifteen years as a home practice, and recently in the past few years have gone on to classes)I saw the thread about mamasource.I too have been on this list and planted a tree as the invite came from a friends email-i was suprised for she is not a mom, though a sweet and loving person, I thought it was a legit thing, now i wonder whether or not they actually plant trees and are altruistic at all. I hope that it didnt come from my email or something.I apologize if it had.( I tend to take responsibility for anything that is remotely related to me so I may just be being silly...) I had been feeling almost intimidated by the knowledge of so many on this list, but Im sure i have a lot to learn: My little girl is upset so i must go- peace patty -- In Kundalini-Yoga , " Siri-Gian \(Soul Answer\) " <sirigian wrote: > > Yes, I also got an invitation from Siri Chand A to plant a tree in my name, and I am also on the Spirit Voyage mailing list. Guest guest
Greetings, This is Karan at Spirit Voyage – just wanted to jump in on this string of e-mails since Spirit Voyage was mentioned a few times. Siri Chand is not someone who works at Spirit Voyage. I too have received the mamasource e-mails from a few different people – but Spirit Voyage would not have forwarded those on to anyone on our list. If the Mamasource e-mail hacked your contacts, you should certainly contact them and complain. Their website has a contact link. It’s also possible that your e-mail was shared by someone unknowingly. I have noticed a few times that group e-mails go out to lists of us with our full e-mails being displayed in the cc field – this gives everyone on the list everyone else’s e-mails. If you are going to do a mass mailing, the bcc field is always best. Blessings, Karan
