Guest guest
Thank you Krishna Singh. I have always thought the most powerful resistance to the Vietnam War came from veterans. I was not in this life at the time, but I can remember studying the War and AntiWar movement and asking myself, why would anyone NOT listen to these men. Today, thankfully, their voices cannot be written off as the voices of drug addicts and traitors. But their voices do not get heard, today, everywhere. So I want to echo your sentiment about the gift we have on this path. Part of our Seva, for me, is recognizing the impact of what is going on... especially in terms of the veterans who are, in larger volume than ever, returning home with PTS, missing limbs, etc. I recently saw the film " Born on the Fourth of July " again. It is about Ron Kovic, a Vietnam War vet who, like most vets, struggles to rejoin the off-kilter society he signed up to defend. There is a crushingly sad moment when, after a night of heavy drinking, he returns home, argues with his parents, and is left crying in his bed, asking his father, " who is going to love me? " Let us be the answer to that question. Thanks again Krishna Singh ji. And one more thing: could you say more about your experience being " kicked out " of the army? I am very curious... sat nam Dev Atma Singh ______________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
