I have questions about the scheduling of the 3 days of White Tantric

Yoga during Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice.

 

I have attended that last 11 Winter Solstices in Florida. The Three

days of White Trantic Yoga Meditation has always included the Solstice

day.

 

I have not been able to attend the Summer Solstice because of my job.

However, this year I will attend Summer Solstice for the first time.

 

I was surprised to see that the 3 days of White Tantric Yoga

Meditation are scheduled for June 24, 25, 26 after Solstice.

 

I was wondering why?

Sat Nam Baldev, that is a good question and *may* be simple to answer.

I'll ramble on.

 

Winter Solstice is scheduled to alway end on Christmas Day, regardless

of the day of the week it falls on, and this for reasons of family, I

suppose. Camp is broken and everyone is gone by then. This allows us to

be together squarely around the Winter Solstice with many classes

starting on the 19th.

 

Summer Solstice is not nearly as fixed in it's scheduling. We just need

to be there during the Solstice, and the first Saturday is when we do

Peace Prayer Day. The scheduling is pretty much set up to have seva

missal members arriving and 'up to speed' by the Thursday two days

before PPD for set up. There really isn't as a great reason, to me, to

have the Summer schedule set up around the days of the week, unless one

is somehow unable to start a short vacation from work on a Tues and

return on a Friday, or whatever it works out to be. I think that some

of the thought around the present schedule encompassing weekend dates

is for folks to NOT miss too much time away from their respective day

jobs. This does work for a lot of people.

 

I hadn't given it much thought until you asked the question.
