Hi Guruka,

Did enjoy reading your post on the gunas and tavatas (sp?). These

things are my favorite topics -- so thanks for your sharing... I am

not that familiar with the tavatas -- and wondering if you can share

even more about it -- how they manifest through human nature etc.

possibly? Is there some way we can utilitze them to move higher in

the gunas etc.?

Appreciate being able to know and share about this information -- it's

so much more satisfying than the everyday talk you find out there!

Have studied Concept-Therapy for many years and in Phase 6 we were

also taught about the three gunas -- the tamas was all negative in

nature -- and self serving, the rajas seemed positive but was serving

self and would wear a mask generally either mentally or however to

gain it's own ends -- seemed positive but the motive was for itself --

wow, have I ever gotten myself into trouble in the past w/o being able

to recognize this. The satvas was all good in thought, deed and

expression and would serve life first before serving self, as I

understood it. In the C. T. study there are two things -- Cosmic

Consciousness, and having a spiritual expression -- becoming all good

in thought, word and deed. They said that these expressions are found

throughout all levels of nature, which are interesting to look at, and

then throughout humans. A person was to see themselves where they

are at and then work to move into the next guna. Also then you were

taught to then move past all the gunas and use them to shift gears as

they called it for each situation would demand possibly a different

expression for right action -- right action asks three questions

before acting -- what is best for me, for the other party and for life

and then acts but has true knowledge of the laws of the soul as it's

guide. The teacher Dr. Fleet used to say if you are going into the

jungle -- you take a bat and I forget what else -- with you --

although they also taught that if you use the lower expressions for

right action -- you would only be acting them -- not involved in them.

Was reading " I AM " by Sri Nisergatta, and it seems like according to

him only someone who is really what he terms as totally identified

with the I AM consciousness and no identification with the body or

mind can be in the satvas state, and then the I AM consciousness is

working through that person exclusively so every act is perfect.

In the study we are given the laws of the soul: faith, hope, courage,

patience, duty, aspiration, sympathy, forgiveness, generosity,

kindness, non-interference and love as first guidelines. It does seem

very hard to overcome the inner self at times in aiming to reach the

higher states. Dr. Hawkins in his book " Transcending The Levels of

Concsiousness " mentions that some people find overcoming the works of

the ego (or you can call it the carnal) impossible without the

intervention of God.

Is anyone open for discussion? Any ideas of how to move into the

satvas state? I am new to K.Y. since this past Oct. have found it to

be extremely helpful but it does not take away negativity that comes

up that I have had an extremely hard time overcoming.

Would love to discuss and hear your ideas!

: ) Christine
