Guest guest
Sat Nam, I have a client who is looking for a meditation or short kriya to aid with her chronic headaches and migraines. I did a search at the KRI site but nothing pulls up specifically for migraines or for a meditation for headaches. Two kriyas pulled up for headaches, one on the glandular system and one on releasing premenstrual tension and sexual energy, but both were longer than she's looking for. I'm wondering if a meditation around the glandular system in general might be effective. Any thoughts or experiences? Blessings. Guest guest
Sat Nam! Yogi Bhajan gave a meditation specifically to prevent migraines. Sit in easy pose, eyes closed at the third eye point. Spread the fingers comfortably and touch the fingers to the ground with the arms at the sides. All 10 fingertips should touch the ground. Long deep breath. Inhale and bring the pranas into the head and as you exhale visualize the energy draining down from the brain like water flowing down through the arms and fingers and into the ground. He described it as being like " opening a valve and letting the water drain down. " Do it for 11 minutes. It's great to do it outdoors when you are actually sitting on the earth but it works anywhere. ......G
Guest guest
Sat Nam, One of the students I teach has told me she found doing Sat Kriya to help immensely. She has not stated the amount of time she did, but I would venture to say start with 3 minutes, resting 6 min and increase from there. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Yogiji gave a simple exercise for headaches that tightens the muscles of the neck to the max so that you have an equal and opposite relaxation. You lay on your back, raise your head and tuck your chin up towards the sternum. Hold this position with long deep breathing, with a continuous effort to tuck in the chin for two minutes. Relax for an equal time. Blessings, Guruprem Kaur Memoirs of a Yogini
Guest guest
I have heard that Yogi Bhajan taught to firmly and repeatedly pound the navel with fists for migraine relief. also..get her to do a liver gallbladder flush ( and to get those meridians thoroughly worked on ) And, out of curiosity if the headaches were really horrible...why not try anything???
