Guest guest
well as you have to get there yourself why ask for gas money- that' so not generous- I think if I asked if anyone needed a ride to Espanol I would put in the subject line- I need someone to pay for gas- or I need someone to pay for half the gas and to amuse me while they pay- how do w eknow if you aren't totally boring or have body odor(I am not saying you do) but how on earth do people offer a ride and then ask for money. I just wish for once if someone wants my company they just offer the ride as they (you) are going anyway so why bother ...Just a thought. I wnder what our dear beloved leader woulf think- he'd probably turn in his urn...LOL Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
it's easy to judge when you take it out of the context. However, this guy sounds like he is from another country, like many of us, so he is not used to say, American individualism. It looks more like well-intentioned than bad-intentioned. What seems normal for a few can offend people from other countries. Guest guest
Sat nam, Think of it as an energy exchange. The person offering the ride likely has car payments to make, insurance payments on the car, maintenance costs, and pay for the gas--not to mention the driving, which can be a lot! A great way to exchange the energy, other than being good company, is to go halfway with the gas. After all, carpooling is being environmentally responsible. Guest guest
Fascinating doorway into what we " expect " from " enlightened " or " soon to be enlightened " yogis and how we " act/react " to a view that is not our own. To start, let me say that I found it completely fine that this person asked for gas; in my worldview as someone who has done a lot of ride shares, asking for gas is " fine with me " ; in addition, since he mentioned " sharing gas " the person was clear in communication. Since I also understand that there is another group of ride share people who believe that gas share or asking for gas share is " not how I do it " …and this creates a little anxiety when I don't know the person…I often ask them, do you expect gas sharing? If we change the issue to something beside gas share; pick any issue and contemplate your response: agree, disagree, convince them to change, sad, argue, happy, create a law, exclude them, you leave, believe your more knowledgeable and think they will learn, perhaps you dialog for a win-win, accept to disagree etc. etc. etc. How will we handle our differences in the Age of Aquarius? For some of us it is comforting to feel that the Age of Aquarius will " clean itself " yet we are not there yet and what will living this really be. If those of us who want the Age of Aquarius use overt or covert actions/intentions that are " Piscean " …which Age are we really living…and what is an " Aquarius " response.
