Sat nam, ji.

At last night's NIH Yoga Week reception in Bethesda, Maryland, I met Yoga Journal's doctor, Timothy McCall, author of Yoga as Medicine (http://www.drmccall.com/). Some of the National Institutes of Health attendees were skeptical of his claim that some yoga and meditation is unprovable based on the "scientific method." I agree with him, partly.

I say partly because today, at the NIH festivities, our own Satbir Khalsa (http://www.kriteachings.org/Research.htm), of Harvard, will present the evidence science has found with yoga and meditation.

I'm attending NIH yoga week on behalf of sponsor Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation, directed by Dharma Khalsa (http://www.drdharma.com/Public/Home/index.cfm), who with Andrew Newberg at the University of Pennsylvania has restored brain function for alzheimers patients with the kirtan kriya meditation (http://www.alzheimersprevention.org/research.htm).

All yogis are encouraged to join Dr. Dharma's "Meditation of the Month" club: http://www.drdharma.com/Public/Store/MeditationoftheMonthClub/index.cfm. Please forward this link to your fellow teachers and students.

But the reason I'm submitting a post today, really, is to share this interesting victory (http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=3N1dIUTbZTo) of an astrologer over Mr. Skeptic Michael Shermer. Astrology stems all the way back in history to the Vedas and the Sumerian tablets, and was discussed by Yogi Bhajan, master of kundalini yoga.

Blessings,

Amar Atma
