Sat nam, everyone. It's getting to that time when early bird registration ends for next month's Summer Solstice annual Retreat (www.3ho.org), yet no one has posted a thorough explanation of why a yogi should attend.

Could the 1,600 worldwide members of 3HO's international have the benefit of a few sage posts from some of the veteran yogis, on favorite memories, favorite blissful moments, and ways to prepare for this event, which Yogi Bhajan said was so critical to attend? You can post a Solstice invite to kundalini-yoga .

This invitation applies also to the European Yoga Festival, if any veterans care to share some enthusiasm about this annual July option. (And if anyone else has another annual event that deserves deep consideration, go ahead and post - the more choices the better).

Blessings,

Amar Atma

Summer Solstice event is always one of the highest experiences in my

life. The the mix of people are international yogis and souls from the

stretches of the earth and beyond.

The humming of nature, brilliant star lit sky, high vibrations of

practicing yoga, the guru, the resounding akandh path, the surrounding

souls, friends, caring people, hugs, laughter, families, children,

community vib, peace prayer day, tantric, sadhana, meditation, healing,

workshops/classes, gatka, walking the labyrinth, blind walk, sacred

healing walk, music, kirtan, ransabai, yogi tea, the holy dust, amazing

healing water and special vegetarian diet all combined stirs up the

essence of our souls and makes us very happy.

It's like being lifted up above the planet when at solstice. You have

to experience it to understand what I am saying. The first time people

go, coming back to reality can be a major transition because for many

it's the highest vibration they have ever experienced.

Here's some stuff and great pics from Sikhnet about last year's Summer

Solstice event:

Yogi Bhajan said " Revolve your life around attending Summer and Winter

Solstices and all else will be taken care of. " These are two of the

most sacred events that 3HO sponsors annually. There were only three

places on earth where Yogi Bhajan wished to have his ashes scattered,

after he passed. One was Ram Das Puri where summer solstice is held.

The sacredness of the land is tangible (Hopi Indians gathered and held

their sacred ceremonies there for generations.) I always feel

transformed just by living/camping there for a week or so. I've been

attending for over 30 years. It is not a vacation but a time for

growth and renewal. It is a harsh environment (7000 ft. in the

mountains and it is desert,) ideally conceived by the Master Yogi

Bhajan himself to allow us to move through our karmas, deeply affirm

our elevated identity and presence, practice serving our fellow

brothers and sisters and deeply meditate on manifesting our destinies.

Don't miss it!! It provides huge blessings in my life-from Solstice to

Solstice-why would it not in yours??? Hope to see and meet you!!!
