Guest guest
Hello! I'm brand new to KY. I'm only 34 but seem to have trouble sitting in easy pose with my knees. I just can't seem to fold my legs up as much to sit in this position...is that ok? Will this get better over time? Thanks
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Try a few Iyengar adaptations. Sit on pillows or a blanket so that your hips and knees are on the same level. Put a block or a pillow under each knee to support the joints. Take a small towel, twist it and put it behind each knee and then sit in easy pose. This keeps the back of the knees open. Lastly you can try to move your feet out aways instead of trying to fold them directly under your knees. I too have bad knees from spinning and over time as my hips opened up, my knees stopped hurting, as knee problems can be related to tight hips. Also remember that there is no right or wrong way to sit in easy pose, whatever works for you and doesn't cause you pain.
