Guest guest
Sat Nam, The key thing to understand is why you are waking up with a stuffy nose and heavy bones.. This may be for example because you have some Ama (undigested matter) in the body which can produce such symptoms amongst others. Make sure that your evening meal is not too heavy and that you are allowing yourself a couple of hours to digest before going to sleep. Make sure that all your food is well cooked and easy to digest. If possible you could go outside for a few moments (or at least stick your head out the window!) and do some pranayama in the morning air to help wake up and alert the senses before you begin Sadhana. If you cannot clear the sinuses this way then you could utilise a medicated oil - just a few drops in each nostril to clear the passageways (I can give some general recommendations if required). Best thing though is to establish the reason behind what is causing the heaviness. with love and light, Anne KY teacher and Ayurvedic Practitioner Sent from Mail. A Smarter Email. Guest guest
Satnam, Something else that might be considered. I had to give up (99.9%) cows milk dairy products many years ago. Gave me lots of mucus, colds and just muscle tested very weak for them. We (my wife and I) don't keep any in our refrigerator. We do use rice milk and goats milk products (used soy for many years but have now moved away from those also.) Many blessings for powerful and clarity yielding sadhanas! How about a potatoe when it is peeled and its eyes are gouged out. What about people who take tomatoes and drop them into boiling water- ouch! it hurts. I have started the forum on cruelty against things with roots- Honestly everything hurts- it isn't fun to be put into a mouth and have those big white teeth all descend upon you, masticating their way through delicate layers of vegetation. I agree with you about the Dairy and really the organic is sometimes treading a fine line- If you worked in an organic farm you'd think twice about the foods- I won't spoil it for those who are about to eat an organic meal...... Everything has a price....My husband thinks the vast majority of 'organic' is BS ! Blessings, Sat Nat Nat
Guest guest
Sat Nam The important things about organic farming - it is natural, it is sustainable and it works in harmony with nature and the environment and also protects wildlife. Intensive non organic farming does not - the only way vegetables grow is with the aid of chemical fertilisers since the soil has lost all its natural nutrients. These fertilisers then seep into our waterways, and pollute rivers, lakes and the oceans. You surely must have read the research. Longitudinal studies on sustainability have been carried out in the USA over more than 30 years - comparing organic to non organic farming. Results speak for themselves. As for hurting vegetables - do you think that a carrot has the same sensory system and can suffer in the same way as an animal? And potatoes do not have eyes. We are designed to eat a vegetarian diet, so what would you have us eat if not vegetables? If you are interested in ending cruelty, why not involve yourself in helping to end human suffering? Guest guest
just another opinion but veggies naturally will rot (die) if you don't pick/pull them and/or the squirrels will eat them point being, when i am asked by a meat eater how i can " kill " the lettuce i'm eating, i'm not killing it...it would rot & die naturally if i don't eat it. animals do not rot and die if you don't eat them...and while i'm a veggie my boyfriend and our son are not, so i don't judge either party. but if you're on the fence about dairy/meat or want to find out more info about the various animal/factory farming issues, there is a great website http://farmsanctuary.org/ ....to answer your questions! best, karma Stuffy nose/Sadhana - DANGERS and CRUELTY OF DAIRY Posted by: " anjiepanjie003 " anjiepanjie003 anjiepanjie003 Sat Jun 7, 2008 2:59 am (PDT)Yes, but what about hurting vegetables- have you ever heard a carrot scream when it is unrooted from the ground.
