Hi,

I feel the need for a cleanse spiritual and physical. Do people have a

preference over which particular method(s) to use? I've read several

options for example, a gradual elimiation of certain & foods/drinks,

switching ones diet to a lighter foods for several days or complete

elimination of food and using only fluids.

Does anyone fast whilst still working or do you schedule it for when

you have more time to yourself and are less active? Are there any

kriyas you would recommend or even avoid if especially vigorous?

Any advice would be wonderful.

Many thanks.

Eve

Sat Nam,

I fasted for 4 1/2 days on juicing all greens, vegetables (NO CARROT or FRUITS).

I also did

my own colonics. I taught Yoga and swam everyday! Not recommended to do any

cardio,

you need rest and time off because the mind can get a little spacey! May be

difficult to

have a day job while fasting due to the demands. In Yoga Philosophy fasting

once a week

gives the digestive track a rest.

Good for you!

I would take it gradually.

I find the organic apple cider to be good and to ease into the fast for

a few days.

In Ireland at boarding school we HAD to fast once a year at retreat and

it really wa sno big deal. I think in this country we are so uded to

stuffing our faces and eating/drinking to excess that it is a shock to

the system to hone down a bit and cleanse I do not agree with all the

super cleansing-(where people go to these colonic clinics and see their

feces go through a plastic clear tubing ) the body is designed to

eliminate but sometimes if you feel 'clogged' it may be advisable to

cleanse. I would be very careful to not over do it and to drink lots of

liquids.

Also if you are eating a balanced diet then you will be fine. I like

the liver flush. If you type it into Google you can find it-

Best of luck and post some pics of the new you !

I also wanted to add that you can commit to a 40 day yogic cleanse/diet such as

mung beans

and rice, the green diet or fruits, nuts and seeds, there is information in The

Aquarian

Teachers textbook, KRI level 1 manual or you can also find it in Foods For

Health and Healing

by Yogi Bhajan, both books can be bought from
