Guest guest
Sat nam. A student of mine has been experiencing some nausea since starting Kundalini yoga. She hasn't altered anything else in her life, other than adding Kundalini yoga to her routine. It comes and goes and doesn't seem to happen on the day that she has a class. Rather a few days later. I mentioned that it may be indicative of her body and mind releasing toxins and old memories/habits/experiences that she no longer requires. Would anyone have some suggestions for her as how to treat the nausea? Thank you. Santokh Kaur
Guest guest
I suppose it depends on what is causing the nausea. Has she eaten too close or too far away from her yoga practice? Both can make you feel unwell. I know ginger is often used to treat many forms of nausea. If not ginger tea which can taste quite strong it is often in many herbal tea blends. Guest guest
Santokh Kaur I do not know why KY would be causing nausea. Most carminative herbs would help. These would be herbs like peppermint, licorice, fennel, cumin, oregano, etc. She may need digestive formulations. She can check with a good Ayurvedic vaidya. Guest guest
First I would suggest she have a physical. We had a student who had an ulcer that was bleeding and every time she did KY or any exercise or contortion or movement of her body she felt nausea and nausea was caused by the bleeding ...blood being an emetic. So it is a warning to her...... I would definitely first find out the cause of the nausea. It could be a myriad of things. It could be her blood sugar- it could be pregnancy. It could be anxiety. I would first rule out the physical and as sometimes people who feel unwell seem to think ky is a cure all but find then they are still sick. If nothing shows in her test results then if it continues she can always look into the emotional/mental aspects of this.
