Guest guest
Sat Nam, Australia will be having White Tantric for the first time on September 13 - if you are free and would like a trip downunder now is the time to come! I am super excited, of course!!! The day after White Tantric the Kundalini Yoga Teachers Assoc is hosting a sadhana and we would like to have live music. Does anyone have the chords for the Aquarian mantras or some sheet music that they can share with us? Shine bright Dharamjot Kaur
Guest guest
I, too, have longed for the sheet music for the chants - and I recently emailed Snatam Kaur asking why there wasn't a song book. I also emailed with Dev Saroop Kaur - apparently there really has not been sheet music for the chants. People just scribble down the chords and everyone has their own notes on the music. But Snatam Kaur said that a songbook is in the works. You can go to her website and ask to be put on the mailing list so you can be kept updated as to when it will come out. Dev Saroop said to just start playing some chords. Start with two and start chanting. She said "you would be amazed at how far two chords will take you!" I did actually get guitar chords from Kirn Kaur for On This Day/Long Time Sun - and I've been playing it after class for the last two weeks. My students love it! Guest guest
As there are many souls, there are many tunes the original way to sing " May the longtime " goes like this: May the longtime sun shine upon you G G GG A A GF F all love surround you F G AGF E and the pure light within you G G G G A A F guide your way on G G H C Sat Nam G E By the way: The song is 40 years old now and was originated by Mike Heron/Incredible String Band on the album " The hangmans beautiful daughter " . I have written an article about the story of the song. Anybody interested may contact me via: mail " at " wittstamm.de
Guest guest
A long, long time ago a songbook was published with some of the "3HO standards" - Khalsa String Band songs primarily. I don't know if this book is still in print or available but Ancient Healing Ways might know about it. Of course, the newer songs would not be in that book. Also, Harbhajan Kaur from Millis put together words and chords to some songs and chants but there is no musical notation, so you'd have to be familiar with the melody in order to play them. Guest guest
There are 2 Sat Nam’s in there also. D A Bm G On this day the lord gave you life D A G May you use it to serve him D A Bm G Our loving prayers will be with you D A G May you never forget him D G A D G A D G A D G A D S-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-t Nam F G D S-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-t Nam A D A D May the longtime sun shine upon you G A D All love surround you D A D G A D And the pure light within you guide your way on The original words were “Our loving prayers…” I believe Hari Bhajan Kaur added “All our loving prayers…” in her beautiful recording of it. Guru Ganesha Singh sets up a repeating D G A rhythm all the way through Longtime sun that gives it a little more drive.- As with all songs, these will morph and change over time but it’s nice to know the originals. If anyone wants the sheet music to the Birthday Song, I’ll be happy to email it to you. I replied to one post with an attachment but am not sure if it came through.
