Sat

Nam,

Apparently, Yogi Bhajan is not the only party who felt the "Long

Time

Sun" was a great way to end a "sacred"

event......................................

"Whereas Zeppelin could whip up a crowd into an almost praeter-human

entity, the Incredible String Band (ISB) specialized in creating a

mystical,

joyful ambiance -audiences often referred to an ISB gig as being like

in a 'church'.

Robert Plant again "I was thrilled to be around them. I thought the

whole

communion of audience and musical troupe was absolutely wonderful.

However, somehow our other Prince of Darkness drew me closer and

closer to Alice Cooper and the ridiculousness of rock culture and I kept

looking behind wistfully as I jumped on the starship and went off to

commit more carnal atrocities ha, ha! The one thing we always wanted to

do in Led Zeppelin was to finish off the show with the String Band's A

Very Cellular Song** - the bit that goes 'I was walking in Jerusalem

just like John. goodnight, goodnight..' But Bonham, bless 'im, said

something very much like "Fuck Off!"

If you listen to the "original" you'll definite look back on the 60's

with a definite sense of the yearning and magic of the times.

Blessings all around,

Dharam

By the way: The song is 40 years old now and was originated by Mike

Heron/Incredible String Band on the album "The hangmans beautiful

daughter". I have written an article about the story of the song.

Anybody interested may contact me via: mail"at"wittstamm.de
