Guest guest
Sat Nam I was recently contacted by a man asking for 1:1 tuition in the UK, he claims to be from Cypress and wanted to know what fee I would charge for a 2 hour session, for his son, for 9 weeks. He didnt tell me where he found my details and something just doesnt sit right, my intuition tells me something is wrong. I just wondered if any of you out there had, had anything similar. Guest guest
Yes, unfortunately, it's a scam. The person wants to know your bank account number to deposit the yoga class fees in advance, and you can guess the rest. Thank God for our intuition. Guest guest
You can just tell him the price and it is in cash, payable at the door.If it is a scam, they will not bother, if they are for real, then they will come. Guest guest
I had a similar inquiry a few months ago, and another yoga teacher I know said she thought it was a scam, and that she had received a like request also. I would be very wary. Guest guest
Yes it is a scam! It happened to me last year with a NUT from the UK who "hired me" to teach his wife and son while they were on Holiday here in Amherst. I fell for it and he sent me a check with an overpayment and I sent the overpayment back! Then this NUT calls me demanding the rest of the money back, which he never got. In the mean time, the bank, Bank of America, told me the check cleared. 10 days later they took the money back, saying the check was forgery. I lost lots of money, about $3,500. Then to create more pain and loss, I was charged a return check fee and several overdrafts. Bank of America had no sympathy, saying I was responsible and should of known to wait the 10 days. It was a Wells Fargo check, amazingly real. I was so sick I was out of work and frozen a few days. A terrifying experience. No such thing as too good to be true. Please pass this on. It is a relief for me to know I can help someone else! Guest guest
To all, I am a bookkeeper for a large real estate company... and we have been finding lots of fake " certified " checks... do not trust any checks right now... always be sure that any funds have cleared your account before you give any money back..
