Guest guest
Sat nam all, I have some questions for this bunch of wise yogis, of whom I'm sure there are some holistic practitioners. In the blink of an eye this week, fall seemed to rush into the DC area, and with it the first round of fall colds, to which yours truly has succumbed. I know for me, I am extremely sensitive to changes in temperature and the seasons, and I get these colds often. I remember last fall, I was fighting something off about once a month. What I'm looking for is really an explanation and maybe suggestions or recommendations for preventative measures. What I do now consists of TCM formulas, raw garlic, yogi tea, neti pot, vitamins, decongestants, sadhana... I've gone to a few different acupuncturists over the years, but I have never had a treatment that had a lasting impact. I find that I have to be my own doctor! I've always had a sensitive immune system (allergies and asthma), which I've noticed has gotten better with regular sadhana, but I would love to hear other insights, especially in reference to the change of seasons and temperature. Also, can anyone speak on taking cold showers when one has a head cold, fever, or in the delicate change from summer to winter? Many thanks, Kehar Kaur
