Guest guest
Kousik, Thank you so much for this reminder of who is the cause of unhappiness. Every so often we all need reminders when we fall off the path to stop and take a look at what is going on, acknowledge it and then correct it in how it needs correcting. These last few weeks have been wonderful because they have lead me to recognize what I need to fix in my life. I thought I was doing pretty good until I was forced to come to terms with things I chose to ignore. Thank you! God Bless you! Much Love and Peace for all Eternity...Katherine (Kat) Kousik <r_koushik2003 wrote: PEACE I am learning more and more that growing spiritually has more to do with just staying in the present moment and being at peace with ourselves. Because of the simplicity of this the mind will discount it. However, it is very powerful in a spiritual sense. The main problem with the mind has to do with time. The mind is always thinking about the past or worrying about the future. Neither one actually exists. The present is always with us in reality. In the present we are at peace. We can only be at peace with ourselves while staying in the present and not allowing our minds to dictate who and what we are. We are not our minds or our thoughts. When we become the observer or the knower behind our thoughts, we are at peace. When we are at peace, forgiveness is effortless. No one has a problem with anyone else when they are at peace with themselves. There is no sickness or disease in our physical bodies when we are at peace with ourselves. There is no conflict with our fellow human beings, or God, or within ourselves when we are at peace within ourselves. Being at peace within ourselves is the essence of loving ourselves therefore, loving everyone else. So, the answer to all of our searching and problems lies within us in becoming at peace within ourselves which causes us to be at peace and one with the universe which includes all. Our minds are the enemies of peace within ourselves as long as we identify ourselves by our thinking and our minds. After we realize that we are much more than our minds or thoughts, then we can use our mind as the wonderful tool it was designed to be. Remember all resistance to peace comes from the mind which comes from a place of fear, guilt, insecurity, and fear of death. So, peace within is the answer. Increasing in knowledge is not except for knowledge that points you toward peace and love within yourself. These are simple things that the mind cannot understand. Just being aware that the thinking mind is the problem and becoming the observer of the mind is enough to break free. So, loving others is not a struggle when we are at peace with ourselves. When we have a problem forgiving someone, all we need to do is resolve whatever is disturbing our peace within, then we can easily forgive. Peace, Koushik. Guest guest
Ruari, I am so happy to hear you are feeling much better and that you had a wonderful and peaceful day! It is GREAT to hear about someone having a great day! I hope you have many more in the future. Oh, and by the way, yes I know what it is like to work within a secondary/middle school. It can be CRAZZZYYY! Anyway, Blessings to you Ruari. Love, Katherine Ruari <spirit wrote: Hi All, Since yesterday evening I have been feeling like I am in the centre of a sea of peace. Guest guest
Good Friends Being in Minnesota working provided a perfect opportunity to go to the big peace march so I went. The police presence was very intimidating as was it's purpose but there were thousands of us shouting peace now and " All we are saying is give peace a chance " , and other peace chants. In spite of all the media misinformation there were over ten thousand protesters there. The tv news had told people that the march was canceled and the local paper had printed a map of the march route that was wrong. The police had riot gear on and gas masks. They wouldn't let you go join the march they barricaded the route so small groups of people were running ahead of the march to find places where we could join without getting beat up or arrested. I finally found an opening and joined the Veterans for peace group and it was so uplifting to chant together and consolidate our intention for peace in a tangible way. There were people dressed up as the statue of liberty and all kinds of signs. One sign said you can bomb the world to pieces but you can't bomb it into peace, a Michael Franti lyric. One said the number of casualties from just the Irac war, there were a group of people carrying a giant inflated earth, lots of love and camaraderie. There were veterans with legs and arms missing and kids as well as old people with walking canes. Every race was represented and quite a few countries. As we passes the RNC Republican National Convention site there were people holding signs saying support the troops and so we stopped and chanted, What do we want ? PEACE! When do we want it? NOW! over and over as a call and answer chant. As I was leaving the police wouldn't let me go down any of the streets to get back to my parking garage so I went into a building that had a skyway and the march was even more impressive from above, as I looking down on all those beautiful people expressing their need for peace. Passing from building to building I was able to find my way back to my car and I was so glad I came. As I was going back to work at Minnesota State fair I wondered if anyone in the United Stated would get any sense of what it was like at all. There was little mention of it in the tv media or newspaper as if it hadn't even happened. Thank God for internet. The whole event still reverberates in me and inspires me to start more nonviolent communication classes and yoga classes as a way of living that could pull us out of this mess. A little civil disobedience is good for the soul. Love and good wishes Gwen
Guest guest
Sat nam, Thanks Gwen for that first hand report from the Republican's convention. As householders and teachers, it's good that we're participating in society, to make it better and serve others with our yoga light. Adding to your commentary, I'm sharing for those interested a couple other stories about the expression of fellow souls, and how their rights were disparaged: Arrest of well-known, Democracy Now reporter, Amy Goodman: http://www.prisonplanet.com/why-we-were-falsely-arrested.html Charging of " Food Not Bombs " peace group as " terrorists " : http://www.prisonplanet.com/bombs-not-food.html What really happened at the convention, from Russia News: http://www.prisonplanet.com/martial-law-at-the-republican-national-convention.ht\ ml As Yogi Bhajan and Face Reader Narayan have said, as the times get quicker and as the Oligarch Elites tighten the Controls in society, it's more important than ever that we do our sadhana every morning, and become healing, neutral lighthouses for the stressed. They said everything will become known, as secrets can no longer be buried. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Gwen! Whattago! Thanks for your inspiring account of the demonstration in Minnesota. Yes, we need to teach more classes in yoga as a peaceful lifestyle and be more politically engaged. And to keep our sense of humour through it all! In that light, allow me to share with you a bunch of clips from some outrageous peace concerts that took place in Europe in the 1990s, a kinder, gentler time. And yes, that IS the Russian Army Band and Chorus on stage with the rock and rollers! (Could you see the Marine Corps Band doing this?) I've been chucking all week. Love to all! Peace to all! Guest guest
" -What really happened at the convention, from Russia News: " Can't let this comment pass unexamined, it's way too outrageous!!! Wasn't it Lenin that said if you repeat lies enough, people believe they are true? Or was that Stalin? Do you think it was an accident that YB came here instead of the glorius people's paradise?
