Guest guest
Sat Nam I live in England and am very interested in World Politics. However, every day I log into my account hoping that the thrust of posts will have changed direction. I am a new qualified teacher and was really enjoying using this site for reading, learning and broadening my knowledge about kundalini yoga. Unfortunately, it appears as though the posts about kundalini yoga are lessening and instead the thrust is being taking over by maya regarding the presidential candidates. I personally believe and appreciate that Yoga is a part of life itself and I can understand how this relates to politics. I could happily write lengthy opinions on this site about Gordon Brown verses David Cameron and Nick Clegg or even about Palin v Obama. However, I feel there is a time and a place for these views and the kundalini yoga site is not the place for these discussions. There are clearly though many people who believe that this is a suitable place for these discussions to take place and therefore, perhaps a solution may be to create a subgroup specifically for this and other topics of debate only open to kundalini yoga rs ??? I personally feel the posts directly relating to kundalini yoga are almost becoming less significant to other posts and look forward to it hopefully attaining a new balance. with much love and light Anne (Hari Kartar Kaur)

Guest guest
Thank you for voicing this point of view. I too looked forward to reviewing the posts to expand my understanding of kundalini yoga as well as be aware of special classes being taught, which I may attend if they are close to my location. I understand the idea connecting yoga to social activism, so perhaps a subgroup would be in place, or if it is easier to create a subgroup that deals specifically with kundalini technology. Guest guest
sat nam i hear you. but these topics are displayed as a thread so you can choose to follow it or not. I do not try to read the whole newsletter everyday. as a working yogi, i simply do not have time. that said, i value everyone's input, and though i chose not to participate in the Palin discussion (and will reserve comment her, too), I think it is important to allow this space to be what it will. yogis do not only discuss yoga. in fact, but discussing other topics, yoga reintroduces itself in its importance. i have heard, however, that the discussion has been particularly " un-yogic. " if that's the case, then i suggest we let it be. posting here is as much an education as reading, if not more. and the reactions someone's post may garner will inspire in them at least a lesson or two. in short, allow. no one's kvetching or political diatribes can disrupt you. you disrupt you. and we are kundalini yogis for one reason: to remain in this world but not of it; or, if you will, to " hang out in shunya, " the zero-state. From here it is easy to see it is all play. in the spirit of openness, dev atma singh
Guest guest
If not a dedicated subgroup, perhaps [Political] could simply be prepended to the subject? I, for one, don't mind skipping over these posts, provided I can tell from the subject line that they're political. The Aquarian Footprints in the Sand, for instance, sounded intriguingly Yogic, until I realized that I'd been drawn into a political thread again... It's not that politics aren't important, or aren't Yogic enough... The problem is being blindsighted by (potentially) distressing, depressing political debate, even fighting, when one is seeking and expecting uplifting, healing Yogic discussion. Readers should be free to experience (or not!) political discussions in the time and setting of one's own choosing. This, I think, is the heart of the issue, rather than a question of the legitimicay of Yogis talking politics... Wahe Guru! Wahe Guru!
