Guest guest
Sat Nam! When i sit on my knees, as in rock pose, my heels turn out to the sides slightly. Is this bad form? It's the most comfortable for me, but i've been wondering about other issues of alignment, stimulation of specific energy meridians, etc. I think it may be more of an issue in perfect pose. The advice i've gotten is that the left heel should be resting in the perineum, but that seems to put me way off kilter if my right knees is bent with right foot flat on the floor next to left knee. Any advice? Thanks and blessings to all,Guru Chittar Kaur
Guest guest
Dear Guru Chittar Kaur, basically you should check out Guru Prem Singhs book " Divine Alignment " for your questions. It a great guide which will help you to practice the Kundalini Yoga Kriyas safely and effectively. In rock pose your heels should not turn out to the sides. This may be comfortable short term but in the long run this may damage or at least hurt your knees, especially if you sit in this posture for longer meditations. Your heels should be in front of or touching your sit bones (Ischial Tuberosity). Sitting like this might be way more uncomfortable in the beginning and you may want to use some padding but it will help you to sit straighter and with much more ease. Have fun, Karta Purkh Singh
