Guest guest
Sat nam everyone. One of my students came to me and asked if there anything she could to prevent the lost of hearing that occurs with age. Already she has ringing occurring in her inner ear. My understanding is that this is simply part of life. However, if anyone knows of what can be done, I would greatly appreciate it. I had another student today who came for her first class. She is of aboriginal decent and mentioned that in that culture, sitting in easy pose with the genitals exposed is not encouraged. So much of what we do is in easy pose. Has anyone else heard of this? How should I approach this? I mentioned that most positions can be done in a chair, in rock pose or with the legs straight out in front of her. I look forward to your suggestions, Santokh Kaur
Guest guest
For the first situation, refer her to a skilled doctor of ayurveda or chinese medicine. There are herbs that could help this. She could also, of course, practice ra ma da sa for healing. For the second case, I agree with the student. Sitting with the genitals exposed in class isn't appropriate, unless the class is clothing-optional. Have her wear pants or a skirt, or drape a blanket over her lap.
