Sat nam,

The yoga studio where I teach, The Awareness Center in Pasadena,

California (www.awarenesscenteryoga.org) was recently gifted a Guru

Granth Sahib by a student. Those of us who work and practice at the

studio are being called to host a Sahaj Path in the studio space

before election day (Nov. 4).

We've chosen to do an Sahaj Path rather an Akahnd Path because this is

our first foray at reading the Guru, and it's uncertain whether we can

find enough volunteers to help read continuously for 72 hours. So,

we're taking baby steps. :-)

Most of the instructions I've found on the Internet are in regards to

conducting an Akhand Path, but even those instructions are limited. I

would appreciate any advice from this list on how we should proceed.

To start, here are some specific questions:

1. Should we dedicate a separate space (i.e., the smaller classroom)

for the entire reading?

2. If there is a gap of time between reading shifts (e.g. 1-2 p.m.,

then 4-5 p.m.), does the Guru need to be put away during that gap?

3. Does the Guru need to be put to bed in the evening and woken up in

the morning on the days where there are readings?

4. What is the minimum number of people who must be present when

someone is reading?

5. Any other " must-dos " we should be aware of?

Thank you!
