Guest guest
Dear Amar Atma Singh and moderators of this group... I wish to be taken off this group. The kind of self-righteous and aggressive emails that have been published regarding the topci of Yogiji's position on the war in Irak are shameful, to say the least. I do not wish to receive this kind of rhetoric from self-appointed guardians of truth. I suggest you think over your filtering system and make this a group that serves the Kundalini Yoga community at large and not let it be a soap-box for anyone's delusions of grandeur or self-appointed missions. Humbly yours, Guru Dass Singh KRI Level I and II Teacher Trainer Member of KRI-TTEC Honorary President of the Kundalini Yoga Association of Spain Student of Yogiji since 1971
Guest guest
Dear Brother GuruDassji, As moderator of KY group there are many political postings I would prefer to forego. But these postings also open an opportunity for discussion. It is preferable to pull negativity out of the closet and into the light of day so it can be seen for what it is. It appears that some members have confused a personal practice of kundalini yoga and meditation with a cult of Yogi Bhajan. This forum may or may not clairfy misunderstandings. We are here as a format for questions, answers, ideas. We have many members from all walks of life who may or may not agree with our personal philosophy. Sometimes we have people in our own family or religion who disagree with our perspective. This is their choice, as it is our choice to live life as we so chose. As a group we are growing. We will go through phases, transition and transformation. This month's postings are just a step on the stairway to the next level. Staircase travelers can either walk up or down. Direction is the traveler's choice, and has nothing to do with the staircase. One must remove oneself from the list, just as one has placed oneself on it. Satnam. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Guru Dass Singh ji, Until the last star falls from the sky there shall be the right for expressing the truth exactly in the way that one perceives it, regardless of the opinions of others. You may turn away if you wish, but this right cannot be taken away. For too long we've been an organization that brooks no opposition, whereas without polarity there is no creativity. And no creation at all. This is also a law. Why are you above engagement? Is your judgment here above 5h3 self-righteousness that you condemn? Why are you leaving? I have known you for 37 years, why do you speak of me in the third person? I am very available as a human being, and humans may often have something to say that you don't want to hear. Denial is not a viable way of life. Guest guest
This is obviously referring to me and Guru Dass is one of the brightest lights on the planet. Please, Guru Dass, allow me to resign instead. I am guilty of everything you say and the people deserve you to stay. It is not their fault. Guest guest
Dear Siri Bandhu, I am certainly most grateful that you do not sensor postings, as you say " to pull negativity out of the closet and into the light of day so it can be seen for what it is " . There has been much negativity, however, " what we resist persists " , so it is most helpful to examine each and every thought, idea and opinion. I think that all of you who have posted items are quite brave and are to be commended, not chastised. If you feel yourself reacting to a statement it is a good opportunity for self reflection as well as to practise compassion. If we disagree can we not lovingly offer up a different point of view? Conflict can be a powerful catalyst for change and growth. Our intention is what is important. Guru Das Singh's email stated that all the previous emails on this particular topic were " aggressive and self-righteous " . It is interesting that this is exactly how his email came off sounding to me. It sounded to me as though he was angry at certain individuals, stating they had " delusions of grandeur " . I also noticed he signed his name " Honorary President. It made me cringe - but why did I react to this? Is it because I have arrogance in myself? Sometimes we can project onto others what is going on inside ourselves. I'm sure this was not Guru Das Singh's intention, however, we all have different perspectives that affect the way in which a message is heard and received. Guest guest
Gurumeet Kaur Khalsa - thank you, thank you, thank you and Wahe Guru. That was the most thoughtful and beautifully written message I have ever read about Yogi Bhajan and the war in Iraq - or war at all for that matter. You have helped calm my soul. Guest guest
Please, please - Gurumeet Kaur and Guru Dass Singh -- do not leave. Surely with all you have learned at the feet of the Master, you know there are bound to be disagreements, miscommunications and differences of opinion. Those of us new to this lifestyle depend on all the knowledge and wisdom that you both have to pass down to us that has been taught to you by YogiJi. Please reconsider and do not leave this forum. Guest guest
I agree with Suzanne, as I have enjoyed reading the twists and turns of these emails, while viewing people's tolerance levels. We need to be yogic in every dealing - not just at the times it suits us. When I read a paper, I have the chance to believe what I read without hearing other views. Whereas with the posts I have been changing my opinion with each post, swinging from one opinion to another, and being flexible enough to go with it. He's right, no she's right, no... who's right. It is all very aquarian. And WE ARE ONE. Sat Kirtan Kaur
