Guest guest
I have been saying, for probably the past twenty years, that there would come a point in our lifetimes that we, humanity, would decide whether or not we would continue to survive on this planet. For most of this time, I was thinking that we would not know when or whether we would have made this decision; that the making of this decision would not be some cognitive process made as the result of discussion and debate, but would be made by our actions; and I was not particularly thinking that this decision would be made by one country alone. But it occurred to me today, during my morning practice, that it could well be possible that we in the USA may well be making this decision for all of the world through this upcoming election. The completion of the transition to the Aquarian Age is two years away. I have long thought that it would occur in one of two modes: either entering into a time of great chaos and destruction, or the beginning of humanity shifting from, as Elisabet Sahtouris frames it, an immature species (which competes with all aspects of its environment) to a mature species (which lives in harmony with its environment). On the one hand we have McCain and Palin, quick to anger, speaking of war with Russia as if it was about rifles and bayonets instead of nuclear weapons and the end of life as we know it, and eager for war as a core instrument of foreign policy. On the other, we have Obama and Biden, for all that they are mainstream politicians (with all the detritus of being such), ready to address the great world issues with consciousness and intelligence. With Obama as President, I can see this world economic crisis as a profound opportunity to begin to build a functional way for the world to conduct its business, instead of what is has been for far too long, where we have been (again as Elisabet Sahtouris frames it) a desert building species and a cancer on the face of the planet. I have not dared to hope for consciousness and wisdom to begin to manifest in our government for so long, I had almost let go of thinking it could be possible. I urge you that if there is anything more that you may yet do to help win this election, do it now. Hope awakens in my heart as I hold my breath and wait these eight more days. In hope for humanity, Love and blessings, Sat Santokh Singh www.satsantokh.com
