Guest guest
In the last year or several months it seems like my dry curly hair has gotten a bit shorter and I had not trimmed it in maybe 2 years. I was never even going to trim it again when i read Deva's article about hair in Aquarian Times. I have been putting oil on the ends of my hair since 1998 so that is not what's missing. As I said in a different email, I had increased my consumption of caffeine (2 cups using the same tea bag of green or black tea steeped 3 minutes each per morning). I started to realize i had become addicted to the caffeine this summer when if I missed it I got the afternoon headache. The trouble falling asleep would have been a good reason to quit, but the reason I finally quit was my hair. I am pretty sure that it is the reason my hair was breaking off so much. I think it has to do with the frazzling of the nervous system, combined with the way caffeine dehydrates us (though I drink water all day) and depletes nutrients. This past week I impulsively grabbed some scissors and trimmed my hair. I know the yogic teachings say that's worse than split ends, but I really wanted to start over. The funny thing is it's not even caffeine so much that I like, it's a slightly astringent quality to the feeling in my mouth the tea gives, plus the flavor. I find I get a similar feeling with red raspberry leaf, a tonifying herb that is full of minerals, so if there's anyone like me that likes that feeling in a tea, get the bulk herbs at your health food store and try it. By the way I know yogi tea makes a decaf green teas but they don't quite have the flavor I want. Plus i am wary of how decaffination is done... just thought I'd share my thoughts with you all...
