Guest guest
Sat Nam, You know... It's still kind of a debate as to whether these sheep are killed for their skins alone, or killed at the end of their wool-producing cycles. It's my guess that since now IKEA is selling small sheep skins for about this low cost as well, that they are skins that are a by-product of lambs and sheep being killed for their meat. Something to think about and verify before you go consumer crazy and buy two... or even one, for that matter. Until someone can definitively give me a background of the entire process, I think I'll opt for a wool blanket, carpet and yoga mat. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Why don't you search this groups data base for 'Sheepskins' and you will find over 35 postings on the subject. Frankly, I hope we don't go through it again. 35 postings on the subject covers EVERYTHING! It was enough, it was too much for me. Have fun reading them. Guest guest
I agree this could be debated. But just so you know, the Ikea sheepskin is fabricated from sheared wool. The skin itself is not real. sat nam
Guest guest
Really? – mine sure looks like a real skin! Why go to all the trouble to fabricate it when you can just tan it. It’s country of origin is Argentina where they have lots of sheep. -- Blessings, Guru Karam Kaur
