Guest guest
Awesome Kriya... my first 40 day Sadhana, and perhaps one I'll do for 1000 days. For those interested, be sure to follow the books version of it, but if you want a little more insight into it, you can look at the Siri Singh Sahib's version of showing it to a class on YouTube. (www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gG2jBJgkK4) (NOTE: There are some inconsistencies between the two, and in those cases, and you should follow the book version.) But I wanted to add a couple tips I've found from my own practice. - The naval point and diaphram are independent muscles. You should be able, in general, to take long deep breaths while pumping your naval. Once you get proficient in SCKriya, the naval pumps can be very subtle and low in the naval point without any loss in effectiveness. - Also, if you keep your diaphram slightly tight throughout, you will inhale more with your lower ribs than belly, which keeps the energy in the naval point " cooking " as I like to say. - Once you get warmed up, try a light pelvic floor lock during your pumps and see how that changes the action. - 30-35 seconds max per cycle is what the YogiJi says is " enough hammering " for your pituitary. - Smile. - Be sure to do the complete 1 minute of full body shakes afterwards to spread the energy. For me, SCK is awesome for it's affects AFTERWARDS †" for the neutral bliss and sea of calm you enter †" just as much as it is great for the garbage it removes during the exercise. - Counting... If you lightly touch/tap your thumb against all 4 mounds of each finger, that's 16 reps. PLUS, you are simulating all pressure points of the left hand, which really hits all parts of the the right brain. Eventually, you may minimize to just the tips (4 reps per finger tip). But this is just my personal preference... Everyone eventually reaches their own personal interpretation for SCK. Keep up! and Enjoy!
